Portfolio reviews are done and I have a really good feeling about them. For the most part I got very positive feedback and anything that wasn't positive was constructive criticisms. Now I am armed with changes that should be made and a very strong sense that I have what it takes to make it in my field!
Now the fun part starts, insert sarcasm here, job searching. The number of applications that I have already sent out are incalculable, however persistence is key. Someone told me this weekend "Everyone is looking for a unicorn, and the unicorn doesn't exist." Basically employers want someone that doesn't exist so keep applying and someone will bite. Not the most inspiring advice but I'm not sure that any advice given to college grads is ever that sunny, especially given how hard it is to get a job in your field, especially creative fields, right after graduation. I wrote a post a while back about checking all the boxes and still not being where I wanted to be and not being totally happy. Lately I've worried less about checking boxes and more about making myself happy and I think I'm starting to get on the right track.
But today isn't about all this heavy stuff, after all it's a Monday who wants more heavy on a Monday? Lets get down to the nuts and bolts, aka the outfit!
My thoughts are since I don't have any current job offers for post graduation I might as well stay in Savannah where I have an apartment and two jobs right? And if I'm going to be here I should be doing something in industry, which is where Paprika Southern comes in. Not a bad deal honestly! We met at Foxy Loxy for the interview and here is what I wore.
This outfit was perfect, professional enough that they knew I was taking the interview seriously but not so professional that I stood out at the coffee shop!
