So for today's try it out tuesday post I will be talking about the benefits of hemp seed oil. I know a lot of people are skeptical because of its relation to marijuana but hemp seed oil is taken directly from the seed and contains almost no THC. The oil from marijuana that DOES contain THC is called cannabis oil or hash oil, so don't confuse the two! If you want to read more about the distinction between cannabis oil and hemp seed oil you can do so here. More and more research has been coming out about the benefits of using hemp seed oil in your daily life and so today I will be briefly discussing the benefits and best ways to incorporate it in your daily life.
anti-inflammatory - because hemp seed oil is known to contain a lot of polyunsaturated fatty acids aka healthy fats, this means that hemp seed oil can be used in your diet to increase production of fatty acids and has been known to help with arthritis, MS, cardiovascular problems and eczema.
Skin Benefits such as -Moisturizer, anti aging, water resistance - I can personally attest to the moisturizing factor as I use hemp seed oil in place of lotion on my legs after shaving because shaving always makes my legs painfully dry and itchy. I like hemp seed oil because it dries quickly and doesn't leave a residue, it also dries faster than lotion so I can get dressed faster post shower, unlike when I have to wait for my lotion to dry so I can squeeze on my skinny jeans. Am I the only person who hates putting jeans on after I put lotion on? With hemp seed oil I don't have that problem!
Hair - You can use hemp seed oil as a hair and scalp treatment, it helps improve your hairs texture and luster. I tested hemp seed oil on my hair, it smelled delicious and made my hair super soft, however it also made my hair very shiny which I don't have a problem with normally. So if you don't mind the extra luster throw a drop or two on your hands and run it through your hair. Otherwise I would suggest using it as a hair mask similarly to coconut oil and washing it out after a while!
Hemp seed oil is also a great source of protein, Omega - 3, and Omega - 6.
Interestingly enough hemp seed oil can also be used as a biodiesel, a safe replacement for petroleum and it doesn't harm the environment!
The daily recommended dosage of hemp seed oil is 1-2tablespoons.
Will you test hemp seed oil in your daily life?
