So I had this whole awesome outfit post planned for you guys showing off my Target boots but then I realized, ITS ALMOST HALLOWEEN! Instead of my Target boots you are getting the bits and pieces that I purchased to make my Halloween costume and then this weekend I will have lots of fun pictures for you of how it turned out!
As some of you may know last year I was Poison Ivy for Halloween, and while I was looking for a store bought Poison Ivy costume I realized they all kind of sucked or just weren't very me. So I decided to make my own! See how amazingly it turned out HERE!
Anyway again this year I went trekking through the Halloween stores, three of them to be exact, trying to find a costume that would work. All of the Female ninja turtle costumes SUCK! They don't even look like the ninja turtles I was so unbelievably disappointed. The boy costumes were awesome of course and came with the weapons, most of the women's costumes did not. So I figured, I've got a green tutu at home from my Poison Ivy costume why not just make my own?
The search began for a turtle shell that was sold on its own not part of a whole set costume, found that in the first store I went to! It was kids but it fits me almost perfectly! The search for the mask and the yellow unitard was a little bit more difficult, and surprisingly so was the search for dark green fishnets, I could only find them in neon green.
Then I ended up at Spirit Halloween, the last attempt at finding the rest of my costume that day.
AND THEN I FOUND EVERYTHING!!! They had a whole wall dedicated to the ninja turtles, where everything was sold separately and oh my god you guys I wanted to buy it all!! I didn't of course because my bank account didn't allow it, but the temptation was almost too great! So I got myself a mask, and turtle tights! And I also found my yellow unitard at Spirit Halloween too! I considered getting the nunchucks to go with my costume but then I thought, when will I use them again and really if I am going out and having some drinks on my first legal Halloween I don't want the nunchuck temptation there. So I opted out of weapons for this years costume! But here are all of the pieces of my costume! I tried it on and I practically danced around my house I was so excited!
Share your Halloween ideas below! I love hearing about other costume ideas, it's never too early to plan for next year!
