There is that Minnesota accent coming out, anyway this week I applied for a Hostess position at this gamer bar I've been meaning to go to just for fun for ages but I never think of it when I actually have free time to go!! Then my friend told me they were hiring hostess's and I was like I wouldn't hate working there lets go apply!
So I grabbed my "part time job" resume. Because in case you didn't know my part time job resume is drastically different then my professional full time job resume, but it's just as pretty.
And I headed out the door. As soon as I got there, not looking my best if I'm being totally honest, we're talking leggings and a bralet with a tank top that revealed all of my rib tattoos, I was asked if I wanted to speak with the manager. You can't really say no, because that looks like you don't really care about the job right? So of course I say yes and thank god he comes over, I shake his hand and he says, "sorry no time to interview today but I can give you an application to fill out" inside I was like well thank god bro because I definitely was not physically or mentally prepared for an interview, which was entirely my fault.
Anyway long story short I got emailed in for an interview the next day. Thus bringing me to my predicament what the hell do you wear to interview at a gamer bar? We are talking legend of zelda, mario kart, call of duty, gamer bar.
Of course this meant I started texting my mom asking her what I should wear to a gamer bar and I made a joke that I could feel a blog post coming and here I am! Writing about my dilemma!!
This is what we decided on :
It was casual but still showed that I cared about the interview. Where he proceeded to ask me on a scale of one to ten how nerdy are you? I was like well I play Elder Scrolls and I own a wii with like eight mario games. I'd say pretty nerdy give me an eight. Fingers crossed I hear back!
